The Poetry Circle, Chennai has been in existence since the late 90’s.
People would meet, read and relish poetry and simply connect with poetic vibes which continued enriching life amidst the monotony of daily living. The British Council, Chennai has been the poetic hangout for a very long time!
As I mentioned in my previous post, the Poetry Circle went off the radar for a while.
But, now we are back!
And, April 25th, 2023 was the first Poetry Reading that we had this year.
We had a cute relaxing crowd of seven people aged 16 to 60!!
Sivakami Velliangiri, Shail Raghuvanshi, Chandramohan Naidu, Vidya Shankar, Maya, Nakshatra, and Roshan were there and read out poems that they had written on the topic, ‘TRENDING’ and what a wonderful read it was, discussing the why and what of the verses that floated around. Time was a constraint but not anymore!
We shall be meeting again on 26th May 2023 for two whole hours to rock n roll in poetry.

The theme for this month’s reading is ‘DISPARITY’ keeping in mind Labour Month.
The word limit is not more than 24 lines.
And, the time to be there is 4pm.
It would be a real pleasure to meet poets, young and old, seasoned and amateurish, and even those who do not write poetry but love to read and hear poetry!
